CHICAGO -- Isaiah Rider, the Portland Trail Blazers' second-leading scorer, missed Monday loss to the Chicago Bulls because of the death of his cousin.
The team said only that Rider was expected to "rejoin the team soon." Stacey Augmon, acquired from Detroit on Jan. 24, started in Rider's place. Rider is averaging 15.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists. The Trail Blazers also started Gary Trent on forward in place of Rasheed Wallace, who was benched for unspecified team rule violations. The Trail Blazers also put Mitchell Butler on the injured list Monday with a buildup of fluid in the left knee and signed former Blazer guard Rumeal Robinson to a 10-day contract.
