CHICAGO -- Michael Jordan helped the Chicago Bulls win the Central Division title Saturday night, but his mood was Carolina blue.

"I'm in mourning, man," Jordan said as he left the United Center following a 110-101 victory over the New Jersey Nets.

Earlier in the day, Jordan watched his beloved alma mater North Carolina -- which he led to an NCAA title 15 years ago -- fall to Arizona in the NCAA semifinals.

He paced around the locker room in frustration as teammate Steve Kerr, an Arizona grad, cheered the Wildcats to victory. Bulls swingman Jud Buechler also played for Arizona, which will face Kentucky on Monday in the championship game.

Jordan's pregame frustration was evident. He entered the locker room and kiddingly shut off a TV that was showing the North Carolina-Arizona game.

"Man, they're playing street ball," he said. "I'm walking my frustration off."

Moments later, he took an Arizona T-shirt that had been placed in his locker and stuffed it in a garbage can.

After Arizona's victory, Kerr showed off a $20 bill he said he won from Jordan. "It's worth a lot more than this," he said.

Jordan began the game wearing a black patch on the right shoulder strap of his jersey, but it had disappeared by the second quarter. He told a TV interviewer that part of the reason he wore it was because of North Carolina's loss.
